New Car

After 9 years it’s time to say goodbye to my trusty old Mazda 6 Estate. It’s been a very solid reliable vehicle but it’s time for an upgrade. I considered a newer version but alas it’s tech seems to be behind the times. Other vehicles considerd where Skoda’s Superb Estate, Kodiak and Karoq, the BMW 3 Series and 5 Series Estates, Mercedes C Class and E Class Estates, Audi A5 Estate and the Volvo V60 and V90.

I was looking for something that gave us lots of load capacity and could allow me to put the bikes on the roof. When I looked at many of the vehicles either I wasn’t impressed with the tech or the boot space was seriously compromised by boxing in the wheel arches. We usually pack the car to the gunwales when we go on holiday so I disregarded many on this basis.

I liked the Skoda Kodiak and Karoq but other members of the family wheren’t so impressed.

I was looking for a nearly new vehicle to maximise the amount of bang that I could get from my buck.

I’ve never had a car as “posh” or nice as this and I’m really enjoying it. It’s got a panaramic roof, heads up display, adaptive cruise control, steer assist, Apple CarPlay and lots more. The biggest thing that I had to get used to was the fact that it was Cruise control but that was easier to adapt to than I had expected. So far loving it!
